The Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation (JASSS) is delighted to announce the forthcoming addition of Dr. Amineh Ghorbani to its Editorial Board, with her tenure officially commencing on January 1, 2026. This appointment acknowledges her distinguished academic standing and is also made in recognition of her past contribution to our journal as both a valued author and a dedicated reviewer.
Dr. Ghorbani is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at TU Delft. In her core research, she employs computational simulations to explore the dynamics of collective action. A significant dimension of this work involves the meticulous examination of institutions—defined as rule sets—and their critical influence on the governance and management of community-based initiatives. Her scholarly focus is primarily directed toward pervasive sustainability challenges, including climate change mitigation and adaptation.
A hallmark of her scholarship is a commitment to rigorous methodological triangulation. Dr. Ghorbani systematically integrates sophisticated quantitative methods (such as simulation modeling) with complementary qualitative approaches, utilizing both streams concurrently to address shared research questions. This synthesis is instrumental in establishing the high empirical robustness of her results and maximizing both their scientific contribution and societal relevance.
The JASSS Editorial Board warmly welcomes Dr. Ghorbani and looks forward to her valuable insight and leadership in advancing the field from the new year.
